Peace Lilly

Peace Lilly

๐ŸŒฟ Botanical Name

Spathiphyllum spp.

๐Ÿ’š Common Names

Peace Lily, White Sails Plant, Spathe Flower

๐ŸŒฟ Description

The Peace Lily is one of the most beloved houseplants, admired for its lush, deep green foliage and elegant white blooms that rise gracefully above the leaves. Despite its name, the Peace Lily isn't a true lily, but it brings timeless beauty and a calming presence to any home or office.

Known for its forgiving nature, the Peace Lily is also famous for letting you know when it's thirstyโ€”its leaves will gently droop, then perk back up after a thorough watering. Whether you're a first-time plant parent or a seasoned collector, this classic tropical is an easy way to add year-round greenery and occasional blooms to your indoor space.

Elegant. Timeless. Effortlessly beautiful.

โ˜€๏ธ Light

Thrives with an indirect view of the sky.

Medium to bright indirect light encourages the best growth and flowering. While Peace Lilies tolerate lower light conditions, they may bloom less frequently. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

๐Ÿ’ง Water

Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry about 25โ€“50% before watering again.

Peace Lilies prefer consistently moist soil but should never sit in standing water. If the leaves begin to droop, it's usually time for a good drink.

๐ŸŒก๏ธ Temperature & Environment

Prefers temperatures between 65โ€“85ยฐF.

Avoid cold drafts, heating vents, and sudden temperature changes. Peace Lilies appreciate moderate humidity but adapt well to typical indoor environments.

๐ŸŒฑ Soil

Use a well-draining indoor potting mix that retains some moisture while allowing excess water to drain freely. Always plant in a container with drainage holes.

๐Ÿชด Growth Habit

Forms an upright, clumping mound of lush foliage with graceful white blooms that appear throughout the year under ideal growing conditions.

๐Ÿพ Pet Safety

Not pet-safe. Peace Lilies contain calcium oxalate crystals and are toxic if ingested by cats and dogs.

๐ŸŒฟ Fleurish Tip

A drooping Peace Lily isn't necessarily a dying Peace Lilyโ€”it's simply communicating that it's thirsty. Water thoroughly, allow excess water to drain, and you'll often see the leaves perk back up within a few hours. Removing spent blooms also encourages the plant to focus its energy on producing fresh foliage and future flowers.

Classic, elegant, and easy to love, the Peace Lily remains one of the most rewarding houseplants for every plant collection.
