Hoya Chouke

Hoya Chouke

  • Botanical Name: Hoya cv. Chouke
Common Name(s): Wax Plant, Porcelain Flower

    Description:
The Hoya Chouke is a charming trailing plant with rounded, deep green leaves sprinkled with silver flecks. A hybrid between Hoya carnosa and Hoya serpens, it’s often called the “fraternal twin” of the beloved Hoya Mathilde.

When mature, this beauty rewards patient plant parents with clusters of fragrant, star-shaped blooms. The flowers are fuzzy and white, up to 15 mm across, with a striking orange center and white corona. Each bloom can last up to five days, making them a delightful showpiece in any collection.

    Care Instructions:

    • Light: Indirect view of the sky. Bright, indirect light encourages healthy growth and flowering. Avoid direct, harsh sun which can scorch leaves.

    • Water: Allow soil to reach about 75% dryness between waterings. Hoyas prefer being on the drier side and dislike sitting in soggy soil.

    • Humidity: Average home humidity is fine, but they’ll appreciate extra humidity when pushing out blooms.

    • Temperature: Keep in a warm environment, ideally between 65–85°F. Protect from cold drafts.

    • Pet Safety: Considered non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a safe choice for pet-friendly homes.
